REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 8, 2010

  

BE IT REMEMBERED that on this 8 th day of February, A.D., 2010, the Commissioners Court of Lamb County, Texas, convened in Regular Session in the Lamb County Courthouse at Littlefield, Texas, with the following members present, to-wit:
 
WILLIAM A. THOMPSON, JR., COUNTY JUDGE, PRESIDING, AND
RODNEY SMITH, COMMISSIONER, PRECINCT NO. 1,
KENT LEWIS, COMMISSIONER, PRECINCT NO. 2,
DANNY SHORT, COMMISSIONER, PRECINCT NO. 3,
JIMMY YOUNG, COMMISSIONER, PRECINCT NO. 4, AND
JAMEE LONG, COUNTY CLERK AND EX-OFFICIO CLERK OF THE COMMISSIONERS COURT, WHEN THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS WAS TRANSACTED, TO WIT:
 
ORDER NO. 1:
 
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 25, 2010 were read. Motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve the minutes of January 25. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
 
ORDER NO. 2:
 
Consider/act on budget and salary amendments/line item transfers. There were no budget and salary amendments/line item transfers presented.
 
ORDER NO. 3:
 
Consider/approve bills presented by County Auditor. Motion was made by Commissioner Jimmy Young and seconded by Commissioner Rodney Smith that all such accounts as presented in the fund requirement computer print-outs be allowed and ordered paid and presented for payment. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
 
ORDER NO. 4:
 
Consider/approve payroll. Motion was made by Commissioner Danny Short and seconded by Commissioner Rodney Smith to approve the payroll presented for payment by the County Auditor, Gina Jones. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
 
ORDER NO. 5:
 
Came on to be considered the January 2010 monthly reports.

            Jamee Long, Lamb County Clerk
            Brenda Goheen, Lamb County Tax Assessor-Collector
            Lamb County Library
            Becky DeBerry, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1
            Christy Clark, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2
            Al Mann, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3
            Carolyn Harmon, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4
            Mandi Seaton, Texas AgriLife Extension Agent
 
Motion was made by Commissioner Rodney Smith and was seconded by Commissioner Kent Lewis to approve the reports as submitted. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
 
ORDER NO. 6:
 
Consider/act on out-of-state travel request. Motion was made by Commissioner Jimmy Young and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to approve the request of Mark Yarbrough to attend a homicide seminar in Orlando, Florida on March 7-11, 2010. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
 
ORDER NO. 7:
 
Consider/act on copier lease agreements between Lamb County and Xerox. Motion was made by Commissioner Kent Lewis and seconded by Commissioner Jimmy Young to approve the Xerox lease agreement for the extension office and authorize Judge Thompson to sign the agreement. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered. Judge Thompson signed the agreements.
 
There being no further business to come before this Commissioners Court, motion was made by Commissioner Jimmy Young and seconded by Commissioner Danny Short to adjourn. The vote being called for and all voting Aye, the motion carried and so ordered.
